AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a global service that allows you to securely manage access to AWS resources. Since IAM operates globally, it doesn't require region selection when creating users or managing permissions.
By default, AWS accounts start with a root user. However, using the root user for daily operations is not recommended for security reasons. Instead, create dedicated IAM users with specific permissions to ensure secure access to AWS resources.
